Description

Edradour near Pitlochry in Perthshire was long the smallest traditional distillery in Scotland, with whitewashed stone buildings and red doors that have barely changed since 1825. The tiny stills and near-artisanal production give a creamy spirit matured in sherry casks. This is the distillery edition of the 10 Year Old.

Matured for 10 years in sherry casks and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46%, it shows raisins, honey, almond and cherry on the nose. The palate is creamy, with toffee, red berries, walnuts and spice. The finish is medium, with walnuts, honey and spice.

A generous, enveloping after-dinner whisky. Serve it neat in a nosing glass and add a drop of water to open the aromas. It pairs with dark chocolate, nuts, fruit cake and aged cheeses.
