The age on the label is that of the youngest whiskey in the blend: every component spent at least 15 years in cask. Only time in wood counts — once bottled, whiskey does not age.

The cask the spirit matured in gives colour, aroma and texture. Many houses use casks that previously held another drink:
• Ex-bourbon: American oak that first aged bourbon (US law requires new casks for bourbon, so many are available second-hand); they tend to give vanilla, coconut and caramel.
A finish is a final period of maturation in a second cask.

A 700 ml bottle gives about 17 measures of 4 cl. Once opened, store it upright, tightly closed and away from light and heat: spirits keep well for months but slowly lose aroma once the bottle is half empty.

Description
Glen Grant 15 Year Old Batch Strength is bottled in batches at 50% without chill filtration after fifteen years in first-fill bourbon casks. It is the most intense way to taste the fruity, clean spirit of the tall Rothes stills, with more texture, more spice and a lingering ripe-fruit sweetness.
Matured for 15 years in bourbon casks and bottled at 50%, it shows peach, green apple, honey and vanilla on the nose. The palate is lively and intense, with honey, pear, pepper and almond. The finish is long, with spice, honey and oak.
Balanced and complex, it works as well for a relaxed evening as for a special dinner. Serve neat or with a drop of water. It pairs with roast meats, mushrooms, nuts and hard cheeses.
