Description

Stiùireadair means the helmsman in Gaelic and honours the men who piloted the boats that supplied Bunnahabhain distillery, isolated on the north-east of Islay. Unlike most of its neighbours, Bunnahabhain mainly produces unpeated whisky. This sherry-influenced single malt is bottled at 46.3% with natural colour.

Matured in sherry casks and refill casks and bottled at 46.3%, it shows raisins, honey, sea salt and walnuts on the nose. The palate is creamy, with toffee, dried fig, cinnamon and sea salt. The finish is medium, with walnuts, sea salt and spice.

Balanced and complex, it works as well for a relaxed evening as for a special dinner. Serve neat or with a drop of water. It pairs with roast meats, mushrooms, nuts and hard cheeses.
