Description

Château Climens is a First Growth of 1855 in Barsac, considered by many the "Lord of Barsac". Made solely from Sémillon, picked in several passes to select only berries touched by noble rot, it produces sweet wines of rare purity and freshness. The 2010 was bottled under the direction of Bérénice Lurton.

In the glass it is bright gold, with a nose of apricot, candied orange peel, honey, saffron and white flowers. The palate is unctuous yet fresh, with lively acidity balancing the sweetness and a very long finish.

Serve at 10–12 °C with foie gras, Roquefort, nut tart or citrus desserts. Its ageing potential is remarkable and it will keep gaining complexity for decades.
