Description
Château Lafleur is a small, legendary Pomerol estate run by the Guinaudeau family, whose name appears on the label itself as "vignerons propriétaires". The wine is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot made in very small quantities, which makes this 2014 vintage one of the most coveted bottles of Bordeaux's Right Bank.
In the glass it shows a deep colour and a nose of ripe black fruit, cedar, tobacco and graphite, with fine spice that gains complexity with air. The palate is structured and elegant, with firm yet polished tannins, fresh acidity and a long, persistent finish.
Decant one to two hours ahead and serve at 16–18 °C with roast kid, lamb chops, dry-aged beef or hard cheeses. It is a wine built for the long haul that rewards patient cellaring.
