18 points Wine Magazine

Made from grapes from the old vineyards of Quinta da Teixuga, with a predominance of the Encruzado variety, this wine fermented in a first phase in stainless steel vats, subject to temperature control, finishing fermentation in new 300-liter French oak barrels, where interned for another 19 months. During the aging period, “bâtonnage” was done periodically, in order to obtain the optimal integration of the wine with the wood. After bottling, this wine aged for 12 months in the bottle. Therefore, given the particular aging conditions and the characteristics so specific to the Encruzado grape variety, this is a wine with great aging capacity.

This wine is straw yellow in color, with a highly intense aroma, revealing the aromatic complexity that is due to the particular aging conditions and the characteristics of the Encruzado grape variety. On the nose, the superior integration of aromas from the French oak where it aged stands out. In the mouth, the attack is intense, voluminous, revealing a lively but very integrated acidity. The ending is long and memorable.
