Description

Romanée-Conti is Burgundy's most famous Grand Cru: a vineyard of around 1.8 hectares in Vosne-Romanée, a monopole of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, planted with Pinot Noir. Each vintage yields only a few thousand bottles, all numbered, as the label shows. This 2012 bottle is one of the rarest and most valuable in the world of wine.

In the glass it is a luminous ruby, with a nose of cherry, raspberry, rose, forest floor and delicate spice that opens slowly with air. The palate is fine and silky, with lacy tannins, lively acidity and a long, mineral finish.

Serve at 15–17 °C in a wide glass with game birds, duck, wild mushrooms or soft cheeses. It can be opened now with some air, but it has the capacity to evolve for many years in the cellar.
