96 points Robert Parker
Founded in the 1970s, Eisele Vineyard is located in Napa Valley, east of Calistoga, on a site that has been growing grapes since the late 19th century. Farming its vineyards organically and biodynamically, the winery has approximately 150 acres of vineyards, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon.
Produced in limited quantities from pure Syrah grapes, this red wine from Eisele Vineyard is an elegant and well-balanced wine, thanks also to a favorable climate characterized by a good alternation of sunny days and cool nights, which guarantee freshness and concentration. Fermentation takes place with about a fifth of the whole bunches, and the final wine rests in a combination of new and used French oak, as well as amphorae.
In the glass, the wine reveals an intense color with reddish-purple tones and an expressive and seductive aromatic profile, with notes of dark fruits and violets accompanied by a spicy base and touches of pepper and cumin. On the palate, it is a generous and enveloping wine, with an almost unctuous texture and a tasty concentration of fruits. It has velvety tannins and a medium to full body. The finish, long and persistent, evokes notes of dried herbs and pepper. It is the ideal wine for red meats and roast lamb.
