Description
Monfortino is the Barolo Riserva of Giacomo Conterno and one of Italy's most legendary wines. It is made only in the finest vintages, from the Francia vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont.
It is 100% Nebbiolo, given a very long ageing in large oak casks before release. The 2015 shows cherry, dried rose, liquorice, spice and earthy notes, with firm tannins and a depth that calls for many years in bottle.
Pair with white truffle, braised meat and game. Serve at 17–18 °C and decant well ahead.
Store the bottle lying down, away from light and vibration, at a steady 12 to 14 °C. At Vinogrande every bottle is carefully packed so it reaches you in the best condition.
