Description

La Mouline is the oldest and most perfumed of Maison E. Guigal's three "La La" wines, first made in 1966. It comes from an amphitheatre of terraces on the Côte Blonde in Côte-Rôtie, where Syrah is co-fermented with a small share of Viognier, giving it unique elegance and floral perfume. The 2015 vintage is regarded as one of the great years of the northern Rhône.

In the glass it shows an intense colour and a nose of blackberry, violet, black olive, pepper and cured meat over a smoky background. The palate is dense and silky, with fine tannins, freshness and a long, spicy finish.

Decant for at least an hour and serve at 16–18 °C with game, duck, roast lamb or aged cheeses. Already enjoyable, it has the structure to evolve for many years in the cellar.
