Wine Advocate-Robert Parker: This is Il Poggione’s top wine and a must-have for anyone who collects wines from this famous winery. The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli 2016 is a beauty, and comes from a top vintage. It ’s elegant and powerful. The fruit is well-formed and dense, with plenty of blackberry and black cherry, and it also gets Chinese notes of campfire ash, tar, licorice, iron-rich earth and balsamic herbs. Frankly, it gets it all, including Brunello’s unmistakable power and richness, which is not easy to achieve with such careful balance. The finish is structured, fresh and long, and the longer it sits in the glass, the more pronounced the leather and spice flavors become.

Wine Spectator: A sheer beam of cherry permeates this lean, elegant red wine, shaded with hints of florals, minerals, wild herbs and orange peel. Well-structured and long, it has the balance, effectiveness and intensity to last a long time.

James Suckling: The freshness and depth are impressive, with a floral, dark fruit and cherry character developed into a full body with chewy, polished and solid tannins.

Luca Gardini: A historic vineyard planted in 1964, an equally reliable vineyard. A Riserva from stainless steel fermentation, then in French oak barrels, with a beautiful olfactory profile with raspberry jam, notes of thyme, lemon and nutmeg.

Falstaff: Sparkling ruby color with slightly illuminated rim. Very clear and finely characterized nose, aromas of fresh red cherries and fine raspberry. On the palate polished and finely meshed tannins, shows lots of juicy fruit, describes a wide range.
