Description
This magnificent single-vineyard vintage Champagne is made from a 1.3-hectare plot planted with Chardonnay in the 1960s. Jacquesson's signature style includes zero dosage and extended lees ageing, as well as a laser focus on terroir and purity of flavour. This cuvée spends eight years on the lees in bottle and is highly sought after thanks to its small production, made only in the best vintages.
Jacquesson's Champ Cain has already been praised by leading wine publications such as Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, which gave the 2008 vintage 97 points. The nose is wonderfully complex, with notes of toasted almonds, brioche and honeysuckle, while the palate shows a delicate mousse, refreshing flavours of spice and nuts and a dry finish thanks to the zero dosage. A wonderful Champagne to serve now for a special occasion or to keep for another decade.
