The winery shares space with the exceptional El Puntido vineyard, an ancient word that means "landing", similar to the terrace that forms between the Cantabrian Mountains and the depression of the River Ebro.
The area is under the influence of an Atlantic climate with hints of continentality, sheltered from the cold north winds thanks to the protection of the Cantabrian Mountains, which gives the vineyard, and consequently the wine, a unique mineral character.
The vineyard has a 25-hectare south-facing slope and was harrowed in 1975 with the Tempranillo variety on a clayey soil with a sandstone rock subsoil. Very close by is La Nieta, a small plot of 1.75 hectares located on clayey soil of little depth and thickness where the Tempranillo variety is also obtained. With poorer soils than those of El Puntido and a completely different microclimate, and after subjecting the vine to little vigor and production in a natural way, a fruit of great quality is obtained with which wine from that same wine is made.
