Álvaro Palacios is one of Spain's "sacred monsters", creator of the mythical L'Ermita and some of the best Priorato wines. Les Terrasses is a great success, showing what Palacios' talent is capable of creating in terms of a great quality/price ratio. This is an extremely tasty wine, with lots of ripe fruit and very powerful in the mouth. It's even better when combined with food.
The Les Terrasses 2021 sample was truly impressive, a blend of 70% Garnacha and 30% Cari?ena. It is a happy and vibrant Priorat with lower alcohol content, greater acidity and more freshness, pointing to a great harvest in the making. This could very well be the best vintage of Terrasses, a wine that Álvaro Palacios defined as a year of concentration and class. The wine is clean and pure, with great precision.
Les Terrasses is a red wine from the Garnacha and Cariñena varieties with 1% white grapes from the region, produced by the Álvaro Palacios winery under DOQ Priorat in Gratallops, Catalonia.
