Description
Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is one of the world's most singular white wines, made by R. López de Heredia, founded in 1877 in Haro. Made from Viura with a little Malvasía from the Tondonia vineyard, it spends many years in old barrels before bottling, gaining legendary oxidative complexity and longevity.
In the glass it is luminous gold, with a complex nose of citrus, nuts, honey, beeswax and minerals. The palate has texture, freshness and great tension, with a long, saline finish of great personality.
Serve at 10–12 °C, ideally in a wide glass, with baked fish, shellfish, poultry in creamy sauces or aged cheeses. Its longevity is unusual and it will keep evolving for many years.
