Reviewed by: Kristaps Karklins

The most generous and broad-shouldered of the village bottlings in this vintage is the 2016 Special Club Oger Grand Cru, from four plots in the village of Oger. Disgorged in summer 2024 with a dosage of 4.5 grams per litre, it wafts from the glass with aromas of elderflower, ripe citrus and smoke. Full-bodied and textural, built around a rich, sweet core of fruit and supported by juicy yet vibrant acidity, it's gourmand and fruity, reflecting the identity of the southern Côte des Blancs. Gimonnet reveals that Oger is the highest-yielding village on his estate.
