Pires & Turner Avesso/Loureiro 2020

The Pires & Turner Project was born from the dream of a Portuguese-American couple who, while working in Africa, decided to acquire Quinta de Alvites, in an impoverished region in the North of Portugal, with the dream of creating a sustainable green wine production platform that would promote the socioeconomic development of this municipality.

In a transition zone between Vinhos Verdes and Douro, and with the river as an influence and backdrop, the hillside vineyards, on granite soils, face high thermal amplitudes, in a terroir of excellence for the Avesso grape variety, originating wines unique, unparalleled in any other region, which are characterized by their freshness and minerality, but also by their potential for evolution.

Very attractive in its straw citrine color, it shows a good aromatic intensity, with floral and white fruit notes, and the whole showing good freshness and minerality, fresh acidity and a medium body with good texture supported by quality fruit, giving it a lively and crispy finish.
