Quinta das Bágeiras - Red Sparkling Wine
Quinta das Bágeiras - Red Sparkling Wine is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The grapes used to make this sparkling wine are harvested with a moderate potential alcohol content. The must is removed from the wine press and fermented in old wooden barrels, where it rests. While it ages, it is filtered and bottled the year after the harvest. This is a traditional method sparkling wine, fermented in the bottle, with the remuage done by hand in wooden barrels.
Being a natural brut, no, there is no added sugar in the expedition liqueur.
The aromatic profile of the red is very present here, with the notes of the Baga grape variety showing some evolution and making themselves felt. The acidity is good, but the tannins are hard, and with this profile it is clearly suited to summer barbecues, such as grilled sardines or pork. 15/20" - Vinhos de Portugal 2015 guide, João Paulo Martins, tasting from 2011
