The beautiful golden color is a good indication of the age of this excellent tawny port. With great richness and aromatic complexity, mainly from almonds and spices, the 20-year-old has a seductive texture with dried fruit and liqueur flavors. As is normal with these elderly pups, La Rosa, 20 years old, has incredible length and is an "aristocrat" of the ports. All of our ports are made "house style", that is, a little drier, without any of the cloying sweetness that is often associated with ports. As with our wines, we seek balance and harmony in our vineyards and try to allow the grapes to express themselves in the bottle. The La Rosa style is to make well-defined wines, without a lot of extraction or tannins.
