Description
Domaine François Raveneau is the most legendary producer in Chablis, and its bottles are among Burgundy's most fought-over whites. This Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a Chardonnay of great tension and minerality, made in very small quantities and sold almost entirely by allocation. This 2013 vintage is a rare bottle to find.
In the glass it is luminous gold, with a complex nose of citrus, nuts, honey, beeswax and minerals. The palate has texture, freshness and great tension, with a long, saline finish of great personality.
Serve at 10–12 °C, ideally in a wide glass, with baked fish, shellfish, poultry in creamy sauces or aged cheeses. Its longevity is unusual and it will keep evolving for many years.
