Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits-Saint-Georges "La Charmotte" 2022 is a prestigious red (TT) from Burgundy, France, made from 100% Pinot Noir. Made with a minimal-intervention philosophy and biodynamic viticulture by Thibault Liger-Belair, it stands out for an elegance that combines the classic structure of Nuits-Saint-Georges with the finesse of Vosne-Romanée.

La Charmotte is a vineyard at the foot of the slope below the Premier Cru Bousselots on the Vosne-Romanée side. The soil has a layer of just 50 cm of iron-rich clay over the rock. Natural fermentation with 40% whole bunches. A Pinot with deep fruit!

Thibault Liger-Belair, based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, is one of the great talents of his generation in Burgundy. From his family, with vines since the 18th century, he inherited parcels and vineyards such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot and Les Saint Georges, and over the years he has added others in the region and in Beaujolais, as well as making some cuvées from partner growers' grapes. Production recently moved to an amazing new, fully self-sufficient winery, with geothermal pipes, recycled materials, solar power and even sulphur sourced from his own mine in Hungary. He's certified organic and works the vines on biodynamic principles. His winemaking philosophy is minimalist, with no excess oak and using reductive processes to protect and add complexity: natural fermentations and whole bunches in different proportions when he sees fit. His style is striking, with a classic signature that has made his name among Burgundy lovers worldwide.

Pure fruit with some cassis, blackberries and cherries. Some fresh herbs and just a touch of oak. On the palate it has many layers, great tannic structure and a spicy finish.
