Made with Tempranillo and a small percentage of Albillo, Valderiz 2020 is a pleasant and complex red on the nose, with aromas of blueberries, cocoa, coffee and cherries. On the palate it is pleasant and broad, also highlighting notes of blueberries, cocoa and coffee.

The history of the winery dates back to 1980, however, when Tomás decided to continue the family tradition and dedicate himself exclusively to vineyards, beginning to shape what is currently one of the most recognized vineyard plantations in the Ribera del Duero.

The winery has 60 hectares of vineyards planted by Tomás Esteban and 10 hectares planted by his father that he knew how to conserve, made up of more than 35 plots planted in cups located in different soils.

Valderiz is an advocate of organic farming. The absence of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers is its hallmark, which leads us to think further and start biodynamic viticulture.

The area's climate is characterized by moderate to low rainfall, which, together with dry summers and long, harsh winters and large temperature fluctuations, places it within a Mediterranean climate, with more than 2,400 hours of sunshine, whose main characteristic is its continentality.

Valderiz's preparations are calm, with long cold macerations, allowing the grape to offer all its virtues. Autochthonous yeasts are used with the total absence of addition of any type of oenological product.

All work in the cellar is aimed at the perfect elaboration and aging of the wine. The major investments are the first-class barrels (they work with more than 5 of the best French coopers) and the appropriate machinery for the perfect maintenance of the grapes.

Every detail is taken care of to the maximum, from the cleaning of each utensil to the rigorous controls that are carried out on the grapes from 3 weeks before the start of the harvest until the bottle is delivered to the customer.
