Description
Sidónio de Sousa Lapso 2018 is a true celebration of the unexpected, where a "mistake" becomes a winemaking masterpiece. During the process, a lot of Baga ageing for the Sidónio de Sousa Garrafeira had a lot of Merlot added to it by mistake ("lapso"). The result is a surprising fusion of personalities, where Baga's robust character and marked tannins are balanced by Merlot's softness, roundness and elegance.
AromaOn the nose, this wine charms with intense notes of ripe red fruit, delicate spicy ‘nuances’ and an earthy touch that reveals its origin. On the palate it has a complex, harmonious structure, balanced acidity and a persistent, memorable finish. Sidónio de Sousa Lapso 2018 is an invitation to celebrate innovation and the transforming power of chance, showing that detours along the way can sometimes reveal truly wonderful surprises.
