Description

Bright amber with a slight greenish tinge. Complex, with notes of nuts such as hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts, plus figs and cashew. Harmonious, elegant and well balanced, with toasty flavours and a subtle mineral range. A persistent, lasting finish.

Producer's Notes: Burmester Colheita 1937 is a fortified wine of around 20% alcohol. It ages in oak casks for many years and is made from the grape varieties usually recommended for the region.

Awards: awarded 5 stars in blind tastings by the British magazine Decanter in 1993.

Scores: 19,5 points in the "Compra dos Vinhos Portugueses 2006" guide (Revista de Vinhos); 19,5 points in the guide "Os Melhores Vinhos Provados em 2006", where it was named "The Best Wine Tasted".
