Soalheiro Aguardente Bagaceira Velha Alvarinho

Soalheiro Aguardente Bagaceira Velha is made by distilling the skins after pressing Alvarinho at Quinta de Soalheiro. In the old days, all grape growers made small distillations for their own use, and we're no different. In the early days of our winery, João António Cerdeira created a quality Bagaceira that aged for many years in oak barrels. After tasting it every year, our winemaker decided the Aguardente Bagaceira Velha would benefit from at least 20 years of ageing. The spirit ages in oak barrels, from which it takes colour and structure that complement the intense aroma of the Alvarinho grape.

Aguardente Bagaceira Velha is a spirit at its best served as a digestif at the end of a meal. It's wonderful with something sweet. We also recommend using it as an ingredient in desserts such as mousses, to enhance aroma and flavour.
